What Is This Website?
Overmind is a model-training site for engineering teams. It takes an agent's production traces, turns them into a training set, then evaluates, fine-tunes, and deploys, with the aim of a specialized model the team can take with it rather than calling a general model for every task. The console can inspect a failing step, clean data, compare the current model, and either keep the weights on Overmind or download them into your own environment. It fits teams that already have call records and want to turn repeated work into a smaller model.
Key Features
- Connect a repository and production traces, then inspect the failing step, tool call, and context.
- Clean and filter production traces in Data Workshop and turn them into trainable examples.
- Compare prompts and models on real tasks, and check for regressions before release.
- Fine-tune an open model and deploy it, with weights you can download into your own environment.
- Provide a web console, a command-line tool, and MCP, and also support self-hosting with Docker Compose.
Common Use Cases
- When an engineering team sees one kind of tool call keep failing, they open the trace and see which step is stuck.
- A data teammate filters production records into trainable examples instead of copying lines out of raw logs.
- Before release, the team compares the new model with the current one on the same real tasks and checks that it has not clearly regressed.
- A team turns email classification or an internal API call into a smaller model it owns, and keeps the weights in its own environment.
Who Is It For?
- Engineering teams that already have agent production traces and are ready to fine-tune a specialized model.
- Application developers who want an evaluation pass before they decide to deploy.
- Teams that want their data kept out of public foundation-model training should also check the Enterprise terms.
- People who only want chat, copywriting, or image generation will not find that path here.
How Does It Compare?
- If model ownership matters more, Overmind stresses that weights can be downloaded and self-hosted. Calling an external API alone does not leave you with your own model.
- If the path from failure to training should stay in one place, it keeps traces, data preparation, evaluation, and training in one console.
- If a general model with no operations work is the priority, the public pages do not present Overmind as a ready-made chat product. Those pages also do not give verifiable throughput or ranking numbers.
Pricing Details
Free is $0 per month, for prototypes and getting agents instrumented. It includes fair-use trace ingest, up to 10 optimize runs per month, unlimited evaluations, up to 2 training jobs and 2 deployments per month, 5 projects, plus the console, CLI, and MCP. New accounts also receive a one-time $50 credit.
Pro is $120 per month. Optimize, training, deployment, and project limits are higher or unlimited, and priority support is included. Enterprise is a custom quote and adds SSO, a compliance scope agreed in the contract, and onboarding support. The FAQ says the free plan can train and deploy within the monthly caps. Credits are used for training, inference, optimization, and Workshop chat. After the balance is used, traces and existing results can still be viewed, and new paid runs need more credits in Settings. Prices can change, so check the live page.
FAQ
Q: Can the free plan train a model?
A: Yes. The free plan includes up to 2 training jobs and 2 deployments a month, and the dataset can be prepared first in Data Workshop.
Q: What happens when the $50 credit runs out?
A: New training, inference, evaluation, and optimization stop until you add credits in Settings. Existing traces and results can still be viewed.
Q: Can I take a trained model with me?
A: Yes. The console or the CLI can download the trained weights and checkpoints, then you can serve them on your own machines.
Q: Can I use it without production traces?
A: The free plan is for prototypes and instrumentation. Without traces, training and evaluation lack the real tasks the site describes.
Why We Recommend?
Overmind fits teams that want to turn agent calls that already happened into a model they own, rather than only switching to a larger general API. Engineering teams get the most from it when they need to explain a failure, compare it with the current model, and then ship. Compared with reading logs alone, it adds training and deployment, but the free plan allows only two training jobs a month, and compute also draws on that one-time credit.
